GRAND MANAN, N.B. – The MLA for Charlotte – The Isles says he and the residents of Grand Manan are feeling an enormous sense of relief as the island’s air ambulance service has been restored.

Ambulance NB and Atlantic Charters has renewed a service contact that will allow Grand Manan residents quickly be transported to the Saint John Regional Hospital, if needed.

Rick Doucet says he feels that the Atlantic Charters service will be a permanent offering on the island.

“I think they’ve built this around the community and I don’t think you’re going to see another government come along and take this away”

He adds this contract will take away the uncertainty and anxiety for Island residents who become seriously injured or ill.
