SPRINGHILL, NS – A 39 year-old Dieppe man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.

RCMP pulled over a vehicle last Wednesday night on the Trans Canada Highway near Springhill.

Approximately two pounds of cocaine and over 14 thousand dollars cash was seized from the vehicle.

The driver, Jeffery Jacques Gallant was arrested and is facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

He will appear in Provincial Court in Amherst on September 24th.

A 34-year-old New Brunswick woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was also arrested but was later released without charges.
