MONCTON, N.B. – Two Moncton-area men are facing a number of drug-related charges after a cocaine bust by New Brunswick RCMP.

Police say the two men were arrested this morning.

They say they believe the two men are part of an organized crime group supplying large quantities of illegal drugs in Southeast New Brunswick.

Approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine was seized.

Police say the seizure will prevent as many as 1,500 deals from taking place.

The arrests were part of a six month-long RCMP operation.

43 year-old Stéphane Gallant of Dieppe and 25 year-old Trevor Dow of Saint-Philippe are charged with multiple counts of trafficking cocaine, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, and possession of property obtained by crime.

The two men will appear in Moncton Provincial Court Friday morning.
