MONCTON, NB – About 200 people took part in a rally at Moncton City Hall this afternoon in support of locked out Codiac Transpo workers.

Karen Haley is among the bus riders who are facing hardships without a city bus service.

“Well some people have lost their jobs because of it, they can’t get to work… and seniors can’t get out shopping,” notes Haley.

A number of unions including CUPE participated in the rally with locked out members of the Amalgamated Transit Union.

Buses have been idle since the city locked out about 90 employees almost three weeks ago in a labour dispute over wages and contract language.
