MONCTON, N.B. – Two men arrested Thursday night are facing robbery charges in connection to two bank heists last week in Moncton.

Two different Omista Credit Union branches were held up on June 22nd and 18th.

The pair appeared in Moncton Provincial Court Friday afternoon.

48 year-old Normand Couture will be back in court for a bail hearing on Tuesday morning.

A bail hearing for 33 year-old Robert James Williams will be held on July 13th.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Williams last month after he walked away from a Richmond, B.C. halfway house while he was on parole for manslaughter.

He is also charged in connection to an incident on Wednesday afternoon in which a Codiac RCMP officer was dragged about 40 feet by a car while trying to make an arrest.

The officer wasn’t hurt.
