SAINT JOHN, N.B.- Elections NB reports a steady stream of people for the first of two advanced polls for the June 25th byelection in Rothesay.

About 4-hundred votes were cast on Saturday.

The byelection was called after Margaret Ann Blaney’s sudden resignation and appointment as C.E.O. of Efficiency New Brunswick.

Speaking on The Todd Veinotte Show, Premier David Alward says he realized the appointment would raise some eyebrows.
“I know it’s a flash point, I knew it would be a flash point”, says Alward. “But I have full confidence in Margaret Ann”.

There is another advance poll today from 10AM to 8PM.
