MONCTON, N.B. -  The jury is still out on whether Beausejour’s Liberal MP Dominic LeBlanc will take a run at the federal Liberal leadership.

LeBlanc says now that Bob Rae has bowed out, the pressure is off on making a quick decision, and he will take the summer to mull over the idea.

LeBlanc admits he is interested in running, but his decision will hinge partly on the aspirations of his longtime friend and colleague Justin Trudeau.

He says he’s not sure it would benefit the party for the two of them to go up against one another, adding that they’ve always shared a wish to work together to move the party forward.

LeBlanc says he suspects the subject will come up when Trudeau vacations in the Shediac area next month.
