VANCOUVER, B.C. – Joannie Rochette, looking relaxed and businesslike, stepped out for on practice at the Pacific Coliseum on Wednesday in front of thousands of spectators.
The 24-year-old skater from Ile-Dupas, Que., delivered a gritty performance on Tuesday night, finishing third in the short program, earning the highest marks of her career and putting herself in contention for a medal – only 48 hours after her mother Therese had died.
